The mighty $35 Indian Tablet is finally launched in India on October 5 and its named as 'Aakash'. The tablet being made by Datawind is the brainchild of human resources minister Kapil Sibal and a team of technologists from IIT Rajasthan..In Indian Rupee, the price of the tablet is Rs. 1700. The Indian Government will subsidize the cost of the tablet and offer it to students for about Rs. 1100 Only.

The new tablet is a touch screen machine.
It has 256 MB RAM
2 GB of internal storage.
External drives add another 32 GB of storage space.
The tablet accepts two pen drives and offers about three hours of battery life.
It has a virtual keyboard, camera, full video capability.
It runs on Google's Android Froyo operating system.
It connects to the internet only through a wi-fi connection.
