Too Dangerouus

Check out this video. It's too dangerous. Never ever try this.

Check out the news appeared on THE TIMES OF INDIA on the above video.

Extreme train stunt stuns railways, commuters

MUMBAI: A video of a young man and his friend performing extremely dangerous stunts in a moving suburban train, which was recently posted online and has since gone viral, has drawn strong criticism from both railways as well as activists.

The video shows one of the men dangerously lean out of a train, slap overhead equipment poles, leap on to the wall of a bridge, run on it for a few moments and then, once again, leap on to the train - all this, while the train is in motion between Cotton Green and Reay Road stations.

Sharat Chandrayan, chief public relations officer, Western Railways, said, "It is a dangerous and an insane act of rashness, which nobody should replicate. Nobody should praise or sensationalize the clip."

VA Malegaonkar, chief public relations officer, Central Railway, seconded that the man in the video has risked his life for a few minutes of fame.

"I appeal to people to not replicate this act, as it is extremely risky." Both Central and Western railways spend thousands on creating awareness against rooftop travel and leaning dangerously out of trains.

Section 156 of the Railway Act can be invoked against a commuter travelling dangerously. The Act specifies that an accused can be fined Rs 500 or sent to prison for three months, or both.

Samir Zaveri, a railway activist, has requested commuters to halt a train by pulling the chain whenever they see a reckless stunt.

Commuters told TOI that most youngsters indulge in such mindless acts close to the ladies' compartment to impress female commuters.

Bhavesh Patel, another railway activist, said commuters should immediately call up the railway helpline number so that offenders can be handed over to the police at the next station.

Shailesh Goyal of the National Rail Users' Consultative Committee, said that not just passengers, but even the train's motorman or guard should immediately report the commuter to the police if they witness such an act.

Asian suppliers to Apple have supposedly begun manufacturing a lower-priced edition of the iPhone 4 with a smaller 8 gigabyte flash drive.

The flash drive for the 8GB iPhone 4 is being contrived by a “Korean corporation”, that could mean South Korea’s Samsung which is Apple’s supplier when it is not being sued. The iPhone 4 was first released in June 2010 with 16 GB and 32 GB versions, with a white version added to the schedule in April. The 8GB version is probable to release within weeks.

Tourism

TRAVEL & TOURISM

Travel and Tourism may be described as the process of traveling to various places and staying apart from their usual environment. Their stay may vary from the number of days according to the plan of the traveler. The reason behind traveling might be for spending their holidays, relaxing their mindset, certain business purposes, curiosity to visit places etc. Though there are various leisure activities available, maximum numbers of people prefer traveling as their vocational event as it relaxes from the stress they develop. The tourist spots might be different according to the status of the people but the attitude towards tourism never changes. The tourists traveling have been increasing day by day when compared to previous corresponding years. This travel and tourism department helps the government to work effectively as it earns very good foreign exchange. The amount which is earned through Travel and Tourism is handed over to the appropriate governments. They use this amount for the enhancement of their country. We would come across the golden words, “If a girl is educated, the whole family is educated”, likewise, “If the travel and tourism is developed definitely it would lead to the enrichment of the country”. In order to increase the number of tourists, various tourist agents are working behind it.

Inflation would come down to 6% by year-end: PM

Seeking to allay concerns over price rise, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today expressed confidence that inflation would come down to 6% by year-end.

"I am not an astrologer but analysts have said that by the end of this year, inflation will come down to 6%," Singh told reporters here during Iftar hosted by him.

He was responding to a question whether inflation would come down and whether it was possible in view of the upcoming festival season.

Headline inflation in July moderated to an eight-month low of 9.22%, from 9.44% in June, but items of mass consumption, including cereals and vegetables, and manufactured products continue to remain dearer.
Food inflation also slipped to 9.03% for the week ended August 6, from 9.90% in the previous week.

"Food inflation at the level of 9% is not acceptable. I do hope the measures taken to remove supply constraints in some of the agricultural commodities and good monsoon will help to have further moderating influence on the prices of food and other essential commodities," Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee had said.

The government and the Reserve Bank have taken many measures to control the inflation. RBI has increased its key policy rate 11 times since March 2010 to curb spending and tame the rate of price rise.
The RBI had projected inflation to average 9% for the first six months of 2011-12 before moderating to around 7% by March-end.

Addressing the nation on the Independence Day, Singh had said that persisting high inflation is major challenges before the Indian economy.

"We are continuously monitoring the situation (on inflation) to find out what new steps can be taken to arrest rising prices. Finding a solution to this problem will be our top-most priority in the coming months," Singh had said.

14 Craziest Chopper

A chopper is a type of motorcycle that was either modified from an original motorcycle design ("chopped") or to have an authentic appearance built from scratch. The main features of a chopper that make it stand out are its longer frame design accompanied by a stretch front end (or rake). To achieve a longer front end, while the frame is being designed, the fabricator will tilt the neck of the frame at less of an incline and install a longer fork. Another unique aspect of a chopper design is that there is usually no rear suspension meaning the frame of the motorcycle will extend from the neck (or front of the frame) all the way to the rear wheel. This can make handling the motorcycle more challenging and the ride a bit more "bumpy". These attributes may seem radical to some but is necessary for the look that is desired. One look that is becoming more popular with chopper designs is a low frame to ground clearance or a low-rider look. Well known examples of chopper designs are the customized Harley-Davidsons seen in the 1969 film Easy Rider.

Dream Cars money can't buy

Bumblebee

The fifth generation Chevrolet Camaro is a fine-looking coupe in the best American muscle car traditions but is it really rare or exclusive enough to rank amongst our unobtainable dream cars? It is if it transforms into an 18-foot robot with a laser cannon.

The Camaro, or more accurately, the 2006 Camaro Concept which previewed the design of the 2010 production car, is the disguise for Bumblebee in the later stages of the Transformers movie.

With distinctive yellow paintwork and black roof stripes, the character is one of the Autobot good-guys who cause huge quantities of special effects carnage in their battles with the evil Decepticons.

When the production Camaro finally went on sale in 2010, Chevrolet offered a Transformers special edition with the same paintwork as the Bumblebee character from the film.

James Bond Lotus Esprit

The debate will rage on forever about which is the all-time best James Bond car but the Lotus Esprit that converted into a submarine in The Spy Who Loved Me must be one of the favourites.

As dream cars go, this one seems to have the lot. There were rocket launchers, a smoke screen and a surface to air missile for Bond to get his teeth into. The submarine scene was just the icing on the cake.

The Esprit's wedge-shaped lines seemed to lend themselves perfectly to undersea travel and it's hard to think of a better way to arrive at the beach.

Pagani Zonda Tricolore

The Zonda supercar from Pagani has been available in so many different guises, it's hard to keep track but if you want the rarest of the lot, the Tricolore is a good place to start.

You could buy this car in theory but with a £1.3million price tag it would be tricky to come by, even if more than one had been made.

Its bodywork fashioned from a carbon-titanium weave, the Tricolore was built to mark the 50th anniversary of the 'Frecce Tricolori', the Italian air force equivalent of the British Red Arrows display team.

Lightning McQueen

Fans of the 2006 Pixar film Cars will be familiar with the animated exploits of Lightning McQueen. The lovable red race car had the starring role in the movie and gained cult status with large numbers of cartoon-loving kids as a result. The character borrows design influences from the Chevrolet Corvette and Dodge Viper.

Despite lively performance and being able to talk, he probably isn't a fantasy vehicle for too many adult car fans. Lightning's inclusion here is based more on the appeal he holds for a younger audience but even the most stony-faced of grumpy old men would have to admit he's cute.

Back to the Future DeLorean
Many people dream of owning a time machine and heading back into the past to right wrongs or place a cheeky bet on the 1971 Grand National. For car fans, there's only one time machine worth having and that's the DeLorean from the Back To The Future movies.

It flies, it leaves flaming tyre tracks and it has gullwing doors, what more could you ask for in a fantasy car?

Jaguar C-X75

To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Jaguar unveiled the C-X75 concept car and gave the world a hint of what a future Jaguar supercar might look like.

While a production car with flowing curves like the C-X75's is a possibility, it could be another 75 years before anyone gets the chance to buy something with a similar engine.

The C-X75 concept is powered by electricity and uses two on-board gas turbines to generate the juice to charge its batteries. It has 580hp and an astonishing 1,180lb ft of torque.

Ferrari FXX

Someone at Ferrari took the view that the Enzo hypercar wasn't quite fast or exclusive enough and embarked on the programme that was to result in the FXX. It's basically an Enzo race car with a raft of modifications designed to produce mind-bending pace on track.

With the Enzo's 6.0-litre V12 bored out to 6.3 litres and power increased from 696hp to a nice round 800hp, it's quick. All that power plus the lightweight carbon-fibre construction produces a top speed of 243mph.

Ferrari charged around £1.6 million for the FXX and built 30 of them between 2005 and 2007. The catch was that the car was only supposed to be driven at a special series of Ferrari-approved track days.

Only specially selected Ferrari customers were given the opportunity to buy and the 30th FXX was given to Michael Schumacher when he originally retired from Formula One in 2006.

Batman Tumbler
Batman has a fantasy garage that's the envy of the superhero world but the awesome Tumbler from Batman Begins must surely be one of the Caped Crusader's favourites.

With the jutting angles of its bodywork and those huge exposed tyres, it's not conventionally pretty but there's nothing better for striking fear into the hearts of the criminal element.

Converted from a prototype military vehicle called the Tumbler by Bruce Wayne in the film, this Batmobile is actually powered by a 5.0-litre Chevy V8. It also splits apart at the front so Batman can make his escape on the built-in Batpod motorcycle.

Unless Batman retires and puts his fleet on Auto Trader, the chances of owning one are slim.

Bentley Hunaudieres

In 1999, Bentley gave the car world a tantalising glimpse of what would happen if it veered away from its luxury car principals and got really sporty.

The Hunaudieres concept was a four-wheel-drive, mid-engined supercar with 16 cylinders and 623hp. It was said to be based on Lamborghini Diablo underpinnings and looked absolutely stunning but nothing close has ever made production with a Bentley badge.

Red Bull X1
When the creators of Gran Turismo 5 needed a star car for their Playstation 3 game, they turned to the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team and the Red Bull X1 was born. Strictly a virtual creation, the car nevertheless has the looks and the stats to make car lovers drool.

The car is the brainchild of Red Bull's designer Adrian Newey and Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi. The figures speak of two car fans let off the leash with a 1,483bhp twin-turbo V6 that revs to 15,000rpm and will take the car to a 249mph top speed.

The X1's fantasy performance is enough to embarrass real F1 cars and the styling is inspired by the aerodynamic solutions found on the grand prix grid.

At 2,180mm wide and standing only 980mm off the ground, it's never going to be the most practical transport around town but nobody will ever need to worry about that as the computer generated X1 lives out its life within the confines of Gran Turismo 5.

Ferrari 599XX

Ferrari gave 29 specially selected customers the opportunity of spending £1.2 million quid on a car that can't be driven on the road. That car is the 599XX, a 722hp racing version of the 599 GTB Fiorano with weight reduced by 270kg, cutting-edge aerodynamics and an ultra-advanced stability and traction control system.

The 599XX takes 2.9 seconds to accelerate from standstill to 60mph and has a 196mph top speed that would be a lot higher but for the low gearing.

It's said that the 599XX is an amazing 10 seconds faster than the Ferrari Enzo around the Fiorano test track and some of the innovations fitted to the car have since been made available to the general public in road-legal guise on the £300,000 599 GTO.

Education system in India above US standard

'Education system in India above US standard'

It's been a worst-kept secret for decades, and now the Americans have finally decided to face the truth. Yes, India's education system, however outdated, is better than that in the US.

Students in USA challenge the teachers, whereas in India, they blindly accept whatever is taught to them. Man-Made Marvels

Man-Made Marvels
Our world is full of wonders great and small, ancient and contemporary, natural and man-made. Here are 15 modern marvels that fill us with awe through the sheer scale, beauty, backbreaking effort and inspiration that brought them into creation.

Man-Made Marvels: Henderson Waves
At 12 stories high, Henderson Waves is Singapore's tallest pedestrian bridge. It snakes across Henderson Road, connecting Mount Faber Park and Telok Blangah Hill Park. The bridge, which opened in 2008, is made of seven undulating curved steel ribs that alternately rise over and under its deck. The curved ribs form alcoves that function as shelters with seats within.

Man-Made Marvels: The Ledge at Willis Tower

Not afraid of heights? Check out the view from the Ledge at Willis Tower, formerly Sears Tower, in Chicago. The five-sided balconies, which opened in 2009, are suspended 1,353 feet in the air and jut out 4 feet from the building's 103rd floor Skydeck. They're actually more like boxes than balconies, with transparent walls, floor and ceiling. Visitors can see unobstructed views of Chicago from the building's west side, and a heart-stopping vista of the street and Chicago River below — if they're
brave enough to look straight down.
